Happy Anniversary!!

I still can not believe it has been an entire year that I have been with Online Business Alliance. A whole year. It started off rough, but at the same time, it has done things for me than any other business I have been with. I have learned through OBA that I Can do it on my own if I need to, however it helps to become a student first. If you learn the ways of the internet, and what is available, then you can take any business that working at home throws at you and make it prosper.

Only we as people know what we can deal with, for instance I know that cold calling is not for me, however I love to email people back and forth. Some people love to just throw their information out there and hope someone jumps on it, that also works for some even though it is not the best way to get to know the people beyond the computer. Working at home is not an easy thing to do, because people do not realize that if you do not work, your business will not work for you. I do not care what business you are in.

OBA has given me a wealth of information to get me on my way to making not just a success of OBA, but any business that I go into. Well guys I will talk to you another day. Here is the last video that I made for OBA on my anniversary for those who have not seen it yet.

Back To My Routine!

For once I took the time to take a vacation. I always talk about how people who work at home need to take time for their families, and take time to relax so that we do not become overwhelmed. Well I have finally taken my own advice. I normally take my weekends and have the time during the week to relax with the children, however, I realized that I needed a BREAK. So I took it.

I had one week left before the kids came home so I took that week completely off to spend it with my husband, The second week was their first week home from grandmas so we had to get them situated, retrained, and ready for school. Then of course their is the first week back to school which is always a mess. You know how it is missed buses, crazy schedules, kids getting sick due to weather change between CT and NC, etc, etc, etc.

Now I are ready to jump back into the fold. Marcus has his new little suits to travel with me on my networking meetings, I have a new outlook on my work, and as of Monday I am jumping completely back into the fold. Are you ready because I am. I am taking today and tomorrow to set things up, and then it is off to the races.

First things first I have to set up a plan of action. Which is a lot easier than you would think. It is just a point of doing it.

A Realization of Mine!

Now that my vacation is over it is time to jump back in and get started. I have had a few revelations as of late. One thing I always say is that life is unexpected, things always change, and no one is perfect. Don't worry, this time I haven't done anything wrong. I have just realized a few things. Now mind you I know a lot of things, however when it comes to me personally it is hard to see what I am missing or not doing right. I have no problem admitting when I need to change some things as long as I take the steps to change them.

The main thing I realized is that I need to change my advertising. I have been advertising Online Business Alliance since September of 2007 completely online, and then in April of 2008 I added Prepaid Legal to my arsenal. Now I have advertised Prepaid online separate from OBA in a way, but I realize that can be confusing for people when trying to figure out exactly what I am doing.

I have made a decision after a few months of advertising both of my business online and offline that I need to figure out which I am going to do where. I have decided that OBA needs to stick to an online business and I do not need to advertise that offline even though I am having success with people offline with OBA it does get a little hard to separate the two when it comes to people I meet, at my networking meetings. Prepaid Legal I am going to keep offline. Advertising online is a wonderful thing, however for Prepaid Legal I take it personally in a different way and need to advertise that in person. I am able to sit and speak with people find out what their needs are and explain what Prepaid can do for them and their situations.

Revelation number two came with the amount of calls of I received about how to separate two different businesses. I have gotten that question so many times it made me sit up and try to figure out how do I do it. First thing I explain to them is that you have to KNOW your businesses. You can not try to learn two or more different businesses at one time. You will never be able to do that. You have to concentrate on one first and get it up and running. Once you are comfortable enough to be able to explain your business to someone without faltering then you are able to add another if you really need to. Also, it helps if your businesses can relate to each other or at the very least help each other.

For me I was brought into Prepaid Legal a few years back and I did not have someone there to explain anything at all to me. I paid my money and my upline went missing, so I let my affiliate status go, however I kept my membership for a few years. Once I let that go, I had forgotten about Prepaid for a while. Once I started OBA, I did it so that I would not go through that again. Not knowing how to work a business that was worth taking the time to learn and to work. At this point I do not depend on anyone else to teach the business to me, I am able and trained enough to advertise any business I end up working. That is what I want for others, I want them to have enough information to push their businesses whether they have an upline or not.

Continuing My Education!

I know it has been a while since my last blog, but I didn't want to keep saying the same thing over and over again so I decided to give more time in between my blogs as of late to get more done, do more reading, and help more people.

Lately, things have changed a little more with my networking. I have been more offline than on. This is the way things were at least until last weekend. For some reason, even though I have been pushing all of this offline advertising, Online Business Alliance has picked up quite a bit, so I had to put my offline networking to the side for a little while to help the people that are coming in. There have been a few changes to the OBA website so I needed to concentrate on learning those so I wouldn't confuse anyone. It is funny how things work out. The minute I took a break to work one business, the other one came knocking on my door. I still have the same feelings about OBA that I always did, and it is so easy to go right back to helping whoever I can since my education continues to grow.

On the Prepaid Legal side. That is where a lot of my offline marketing goes. I have been to many networking events as of late and have been able to listen to what it is people need before jumping in and telling them just anything. I now know how to tailor the services we offer so they fit the person I am talking to, depending on what their needs are. So I still make my point to be out there showing my face. Setting up meetings to talk about all of the services that we offer. The message seems to be going through. So I am sticking to it.

Not enough time in the world!

I have been full speed ahead since the beginning of my little journey that started back in February of this year.I have had a lot of things to fix, and I have had a lot of things change. Although it is all for the best, it is a lot of work to stay focused.

I know that as of late my blog has had info on what I have been doing from week to week, but none of you are really up to date with what is going on with me, and what I have been doing to keep myself focused and sane. Well I am about to break it down for all of you.

Number one is keeping my word to the Online Business Alliance. I said when this little journey began that I was going to stick to OBA no matter what, because that is my beginning. I started with the company back in September of last year and I am still going strong with the company. No matter what else comes into play I am still making time for the people that come into OBA because I believe in keeping my word. Plus, OBA gives me a way to help others for a very low cost. For $5 I am able to teach whoever wants information about advertising, and networking online everything I know that has worked for me. There are so many people who are lost with all of the information that the internet kicks out. I am here to help sift through all of that mess.

As for Prepaid Legal. Things are going very strong. I will leave the best part of it for another time, however Prepaid Legal has been booming lately. Everything I am putting into it is being given back to me two fold. I have been blessed and now realize that picking Prepaid back up has given me a way to bless others. Believe it or not. Then it has given me an idea of how I can help others on a bigger scale.

We have been so busy that for this weeks radio show we ended up being more of ourselves than we anticipated. I am as always leaving a copy for you all to hear.

Back to Basics!

I am taking this week to go back to my root business Online Business Alliance. I have never had a business that I cared enough about to stay in for a long enough time to fully understand it. OBA was that business. I am coming up on a year with OBA in September of this year and I have taken a second look at it.

I have never let OBA go, I still advertise it as much as I do Prepaid Legal, and Lifetime Vision Group, however, there have been some changes within OBA that have made me take time to stop what I am doing for a few days to create a site to help alot of the people who are not understanding the principals of the business and the community. Some people come in thinking 5 bucks what do i have to lose, however they have no idea what it is we offer.

I have taken the time this week to reopen the floodgates so to speak for those within OBA to still have the resources to help them get started and moving within the community. To make sure that everyone has the information that they need to grow. This company has helped me grow to where I am now, and I want everyone else involved in our community to be able to do the same.

Networking, You Have To Love It!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, a very busy week or so has gone by and I am on a roll. As I said the online and offline work is going well. I am at the point now where I am meeting A LOT of people in my area, we are working well off of each other. We have also started a few groups on Cafemom to get women in our surrounding areas together to work with each other. On top of that we have joined another networking group in our area called Mastermind Moms. This group was an amazing experience for the both of us. They know the TRUE meaning of networking. The first thing they asked us was what do you need, and how can we help. As Shannon and I spoke about what we were trying to do, they were taking notes and telling us that they know of certain people that can help us with certain areas.

Shannon and I were also going to a mall here in WS to meet with one of the women from our group, now mind you neither of us that morning (honestly) wanted to leave our houses, however we went anyway. Mind you the woman we went to see did not show up, however we ran into another group of moms who were there from Triad Mommies group on cafemom. We all got to talking to each other and we sat for a while and networked with each other and watched our kids play together. You never know what is going to happen when you step out of your house.

Along with that, I have run into a great business man on Black Business Space who I have been networking with for a while now. While speaking with him he asked if I would come onto his radio show with him within an hour or so. I did. There is one thing about me if someone asks me to do something I will do my best to make sure I do it. Busyness into Business!

Another week has gone by and I have found a way to turn my busyness into business to keep from going crazy. I have pulled the online and offline marketing together and it is working very well right now. Things are still changing for the better and making my life easier. I am at the point where I can set up certain things i am going to do for my offline marketing on the days that there are networking meetings either here or in Greensboro, and Shannon and I alternate days, and on the days there are no networking meetings we stay at the house and do all of our computer work. GAS costs way too much to do too much running around, so we pick our days carefully.

It has taken me a little while to get system going, and it is not perfected yet (you will be the first to know if that ever happens while I have four kids) however it is working for me right now. I have chopped my networking sites in half continuing only with the sites I spent most of my time on. I had so many that I forgot about from month to month, that I figured it was time to let them go. Now I can be more affective online than I was trying to figure out which site to go to next, and trying to remember where I could just throw info around. That was not fair to the people that were actually there to network.

As for our newest vision. Shannon and I have already started putting things together. We are gathering information right now for various people of various businesses who we are going to advertise on our site, so that people who need certain services will access to the best people to help them.

Now the radio show this week was different for us. Last week we had a rough show, however this week although our guest did show she was only there for a sec so we went on and talked about the importance of a Prepaid Legal Membership. It is something Shannon and I both know well and we know how much it is needed. So we went for it.

Two Sides of the Street!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I am realizing lately that I have become very good at online marketing, however I needed to work on my offline marketing. Funny how things work out. When you become a stay at home mom you forget what it is to talk to people when you are face to face.

Lately Shannon has been dragging me out of my comfort zone, out of my box more and more. She has been putting me on the spot and I am beginning to love it. It takes some time to get used to. However, it is definately worth it. One thing that I have realized is that I had to start leaving the house in order to know both sides of the track, online and offline marketing.

Alot of people see offline marketing, hitting the street, networking meetings, walking up to people as old school. I admit it, I do too. However, in your own home town for you to get to know people and for them to get to know you, you have to be able to see them face to face, be able to touch them. Let them know you are a real person.

Even when it comes to online marketing, people want to get to know you before they jump in with you. You also need to get to know who they are and what they do. As I have said before I started a group on Cafemom for women in my area who are either working from home or are looking to work from hoome. We have all been getting to know each other, however it came a time when we needed to meet. We found out alot more about each other face to face than we ever did online.

Contacts are a great thing to have no matter who you are or what either of you do. The main point is to gain relationships and not just lists of people. The only way to do this is to have both online marketing and offline marketing under your belt. That way you are not just stuck in the house going crazy and yelling at your computer or stuck with no money due to the fact that you had to give up your first born for gas money.

Short But Sweet!

This weeks post is going to be very short but sweet. My last few weeks working with Shannon have been very productive so my work load has expanded. We have taken the last two weeks and networked our heads off. We have been meeting some wonderful people that are allowing us to learn from them and giving us ideas as to what we would need to do to push our businesses ever farther.

I also last week sent out an email on one of my networking sites asking the people I network with who they are and what it is that they do. My main point in sending the email was to see who was serious about what they do. I understand that if you join a business you are serious about it, but I wanted to know who was really there to NETWORK.

Sadly, 75% of the replies I received were links, ads or one and a half lines of information on what they did nothing else. I even had someone that when they sent their link, I asked them to elaborate and they copy and pasted information from their website. The other 25% I am still in contact with and we are building an excellent networking relationship.

People please work with me. I say this in almost every blog, email, or video that I do. If you are going to network with someone you can not just send them your link and think that they are going to jump on your business and not look. People at this time are being very cautious about what they join and they will not join you if they do not know who you are. Find out about the other person and see what your business can do for them as well as what their business can do for you. If you have nothing in common with your business remember you can always bounce ideas off of each other on advertising, marketing, frustrations, etc. At this point we are human networkers and most of us go through the same things. We can always be there for each other one way or another.

What A Busy Week. Networking At Its Best!

I have had such a busy week already! It is only Wednesday, and I already have the rest of the next week or so planned out. As of yesterday my partner in crime Shannon showed up and we have already started putting all of our ideas to work. We started Friday with a little brainstorming, but by Monday we were in full swing and setting things up.

As soon as she showed up, we got our coffee and started making a list of the different things we are going to start doing now that spring is here and summer is coming. We are both going to be hitting more Networking Conferences together. We have two set up for this week already. We are going to do some off-line advertising as well. It is time for the college students to start getting out of school. Going home for the summer gives them more time to make some money before going back to school, so that is what I want to help them do.

I have ordered my business cards, and we are in the middle of making our fliers. I have also asked Shannon to "marry me" so to speak as in joining me as a co-host for my radio show. She is a wonderful person and I think her voice needs to be heard, along with mine. We will be doing a video together before the end of the week, and pushing each other to be successful. "The true meaning of Networking." Helping each other, and pushing each other to be successful.

This week I wanted to invite Shannon to be on the show as a guest, and she said yes so you will be able to find out more about her on the show that I have here. I would also like to thank Steph Perez for allowing me to drag her onto the show unexpectedly.

The Best Day I Have Ever Had!

Yesterday, was the best day I have ever had being a Working Stay At Home Mom! I could not have asked for a better day. I got up on time, and got my first two kids out the door by 6:30 am. Made my husbands lunch and coffee, woke up my third and fourth children got everyone dressed and we were all out the door by 7:30 am.

I get my daughter to Preschool by 7:50 am and was able to make it to Starbucks for a meeting with a friend and business partner of mine by 8:30. Yes, I was on time and so was she. Alright off to a great start!

We sat and had our $10 worth of coffee we could barely pronounce at Starbucks we then realized that their internet connection was not working so we had to leave and went over to the McDonalds next door which had a McCafe and low and behold their connection was up and running so I turned on my laptop, and handed my son his little computer and we went to work. We had some conversation about the business she joined me in, and then we talked about the business she is in, which I was a member of but not an affiliate for. I had quite a few issues with her business in the past because I was taken for a ride and lied to by my sponsor. However, seeing the way that she is and just knowing that as a member she has been in constant contact with me to make sure everything was alright, I decided to become an affiliate again. This business runs in line with everything I am trying to do to make the change my life and get things in order so I am now a proud affiliate.

OK. We finished work at 11:30 am and I was able to go visit and have lunch with my husband. I never have time to do that, so it was a great treat for my husband, my son and I.

After lunch, it was time to head home so that I could relax for a little while before picking up my preschooler at 2:00, and then get ready for a 2:30 training appointment on skype with one of my new community members in my business. Yes it had to be on skype for two reasons. One because at 2:30 my older two get home so my house turns into a very loud jungle, and two this way he would be able to pull the conversation at a later date if he needs the info again for himself or someone else. It was a win win. We had a great hour and a half training session, and we were able to get to all of the questions that he had. That left me with an hour to take care of my email and make phone calls to answer questions to people who left voicemail for me.

Once all of that was finished I was able to play with my kids, dance around my house with them, and we had such a great time I didn't freak out when the two youngest ones broke two of the boards under my sons brand new two week old bed. :) My husband came home early just as I was about to cook to let me know all he wanted was hotdogs which made my life even better last night. Because it left me even more time to play with the kids before my 8:00 pm radio show.

So as you can see being a Working Stay At Home Mom does have its perks from time to time. This is an example of the kind of day that we work hard to have. Incorporate family and business and have it flow in such a perfect way. These days can happen, and when they do they remind you that, your family is what it is all about the time that you can have with them to just play, talk, dance and still get your work done.

Family Visiting And I Still Have Work To Do!

I am having a crazy week this week! My mommy is here, she has come to visit since the kids have Spring Break this week. That means that my house is completely full of people, we have myself, my husband, the four children and my mom and step-dad. That is eight people, you would think I would have more time with grandma here to get work done, NOPE my computer is in the living room in the center of the "jungle" kids running around, fighting over who is going to sit in grandpas lap, and I could not concentrate so I had to really push myself to get all of my work done first thing in the morning while everyone was asleep and then at night once the kids went to bed. But do you know I still got my work done. What do you know, I was able to pull it off.

Although, I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off for the week, I found time to take the family down to visit an old friend of the family that I hadn't ween in 20 years, and I also found time to take them to Charleston SC to visit where the Civil War took place. A very busy week indeed.

As for my work, I of course made it through another Chapter of Think and Grow Rich, I reconnected with a few more people that I used to be in constant contact with when I first started working with Online Business Alliance and I was still able to pull off my radio show when I walked in my door with 5 minutes to spare coming back from that old friends house which was an hour and a half away from me. Not only that but my guest for the day canceled on me which is fine I understand that things come up, but while I am driving on the road I am on my cell phone trying to find a guest for the show, which did not work out, so I Thank God for Clarence, and the people who called in because we were able to fill the hour anyway. Keeping To My Word!

I am such a happy camper. I have taken what I said I was going to do, and stuck to it. It has taken me three weeks to type another blog. That is because I have kept to my word. I have continued my search for people that keep me grounded and I have found them, sad thing is some of them I was already in contact with, I just wasn't paying attention. See what happens when your moving to fast and not thinking straight.

Not only that but I have continued my education. I have made it my personal mission to start reading "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill everyday before I start work. That is what puts me in the correct mindset to get started. I have found that it helps not only to get my mind ready for the day, but it helps keep me focused on my task at hand. I do not allow myself to sway from it.

But desiring riches with a state of mind that becomes an obsession, then planning definite ways and means to acquire riches, and backing those plans with persistence which does not recognize failure, will bring riches." by Napolean Hill. Now as for business, things are going great. I have had not only people join me, but some of the people who have joined me in the past and disappeared come back and take a second look at the business and get excited again. Again, I have stuck to my word and I am giving them my full attention like I used to do. It feels good to keep to what I say.

My Week In Recovery! (So to Speak)

Alright, we have already gone over where I was and what I did. Now it is time to talk about what I am doing to get where I am going.

I had to begin with a search for people. Not people to bring into my business, but positive people who have the same mindset that I have. They are taking control of their lives and their businesses. They are helping others look inside themselves to see what they want and what they need to do to get there. People I can talk to to keep myself grounded. I would like to take a minute to thank Kimyon Zari, for taking the time to speak with me and listen to me even though I wasn't joining her business at the moment. That is what networking is about, helping each other.

The next thing I needed to do was to reconnect with people I used to speak with all the time, that haven't been in contact with in a while. Whether they were in my business or if they were people that I networked with. That was important to bring me back to my old self. Let them know I am still here for them no matter what they are doing.

Then, it was time to research, and research I did. I started just looking up information on money making principals, how not to lose myslef while I grow. I spoke with a lot of people about what ebooks have helped them and i just started reading. Taking in information is the key, and I also started watching videos of people that have a great amount of information that they are just willing to give away.

This was one of the best videos that I ran across, and it seemed like he was talking to me personally when I was watching it. It is in black and white, but the information itself is golden.

Now in this past week of self discovery I guess you could say, without pushing my business down peoples throats I am being contacted by people that are proud of the fact that I am being honest not just with myself but with everyone else. Things are already changing and I love it.

The Return Of Lorreen

I have been trying to work at home for years. I had been through as many ups and downs as I possibly could. However, after all of that time I had found something that worked for me. It was Online Business Alliance. I was able to learn how to work on the internet, not just follow what everyone else was doing, and things were going great. I was able to make a name for myself and a lot of people knew who I was, I was making great money and things were just PERFECT. I wasn’t only making money, but I was able to help other people learn the same things that I did. Advertising didn’t feel like advertising, and helping people felt GREAT. I was on top of the world, as far as I knew.

However, what people forget to remember is that we although we are Network Marketers making money, that we are human and things happen. I was knocked down 20 pegs by life. Life came up and knocked me on my butt, which brought down not just me, but my ability to work my business. I took for granted the fact that I was still getting signups even though I wasn’t advertising, and thought “This Is Great“. I will send them an email let them know I am here and keep moving.

This is when life put it's foot up my butt. I disappeared for about a month or so. Then when I got back to normal I thought if I take an extra step and just follow the pack, that things would be great I would be making more money, and still have my community of people that will follow me, and I will be able to add people to my business by adding capture pages, and auto responders, free ads, paid ads, etc. If I automate everything, I will be able to continue to bring in more people, and keep money coming in. That did not work, after a few weeks of doing that I realized that doing that took the personal aspect of the businesses from me. I lost touch with who I was and what I was trying to do.

I needed to take a step back and take a real hard look at what I was doing, not just to myself but to all those people who were with me. It was time to STOP and bring Lorreen Sample back. That is the point that I am at now. Do not get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with automating yourself when you have so many people coming in that it is hard to keep up, and it really works for most people. I am not one of those people. I need to be ME no matter how many people I am bringing in. They joined me expecting to get me, my personality, and get my time. They did not join just the business, they joined ME. So I am from now on going back to my normal way, Back To Basics if you like.

Life and the internet are trial and error. I have made my errors, so I take it as a learning experience and keep going. I am continuing my business with Online Business Alliance for that is “my baby“ I learned A LOT through it and continue to be a student, but at the same time I am in the process of moving forward to helping people in a way that will show them how to start and maintain a business but not lose yourself in the process, no matter what LIFE throws at you
